nice stay in a historical gem
spacious suite equipped kitchen convenient location
i booked the forest view spa suite and was surprised by its size. the wrap-around balcony offered ample seating. the kitchen was fully equipped, and the living area provided plenty of space. it was great we could easily walk into town for restaurants and bars.
The absence of a lift was a small inconvenience. We had to carry our luggage up the stairs.

the queen room had comfortable furnishing and an ensuite bathroom. i found the bed provided a restful sleep experience. the room included complimentary toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, and soap).

quirky and Convenient
beautiful views nice touch
the suite i booked was a pleasant surprise. i had views overlooking both the restaurant and the forest. the location was ideal too and i could walk to the river, restaurants and bars. milk and biscuits were a nice touch.
the shower in our suite alternated between hot and freezing. it was impossible to get consistent temperature. minimal car parking was a slight issue.

check-in and check-out are super easy. the staff are professional and helpful. no one is on site at night but someone came to fix the electrics after about an hour when they went off.

foyer area italian restaurant good value
the merlot queen room courtyard offered a foyer area. i found it quite unexpected.. but welcome. the italian restaurant located there proved superb, serving some of the best italian food i have eaten. the value was good.
the rooms are old so you can smell the old wood.. also it is a bit dark.
